| The first time you come along to an adventure it would help if you could bring some clothes that would suit a fantasy character (you know the sort: a tabard for a knight, robes for a mage or priest and some sort of jerkin for pretty much everything else). Please avoid army clothes as they give a bad image to the public that we might meet while we are playing.
After a fair few adventures you will be expected to provide your own kit including any armour, weapons and clothes you need. Help and advice on kit making is alway on hand so just ask.
Once you are up and running, you can get your self as many or as few physreps* and clothes as you like. However the basic kit you will require will normally be as follows:
- A full set of clothes for your character.
You can wear, within reason, whatever you like; however there are a couple of rules which we like to see maintained.
- Wristwatches and items obviously using modern technology should be hidded from view.
- Trainers or Clothes bearing recognisable script should not be visible.
- Items recognisable as have occult or religious significance should be avoided.
This rule is included to avoid alarming or concerning the general public.
- Any clothes should be designed or look suitable archaic.
- A full set of 'monstering' clothes.
You will need to help run the adventures for other players and so require other clothes that are fairly plain and can be used to portray a number of different monsters.
- A weapon or some description.
When I say weapon, do not fear. The weapons we use are specially crafted 'padded' weapons, they usually consist of a fibreglass core, surrounded in calogen (a foam that deforms but regains it original shape), carved to look like to item it is representing and having a layer of coloured latex on the outside, to make the weapon look real.
You can see a selection of typical weapons to buy at one of the suppliers on our link page.
- Any other objects your character may need.
This may include pretty much anything you can think that a medieval or fantasy person might own. You should use your imagination here, however I have included a list of typical objects:
- Candles
- Bandages
- Bags (for carrying the spoils of adventure)
- Potion Bottles
Although this sounds like a lot of cost, it can be as cheap or as expensive as you choose to make it. You can get suitable clothes from charity shops or by making your own from cloth. Weapons can me made using wood dowelling for a core, camping mat for padding and 'duck' or 'gaffa' tape for the outside layer and you can usually buy all sorts of other stuff from junk shops.
