Until 1968 contractor for London (weekends) and Midlands (weekdays) - This franchise was relinquished in excahnge for the 7-day franchise within the Midlands region during the franchise rounds.

London Weekend Television (LWT)

LWT

LWT took over the London weekend franchise in 1968 when ATV was given the seven day contract for the Midlands.

Over the years LWT has become one of the flagship contractors with major contributions to the Network spanning the full range of programming from comedy, gameshows and entertainment to arts, drama and current affairs.

ITV sport has also been a significant part of the companies interests, providing 'World of Sport' to the network until 1985.

Broadcasting Friday early evening to Monday 6am.
