Granada initially had the franchise for weekdays covering the North of England, when the franchise was reallocated in 1968 the area was reduced to the North-West only but over seven days. Granada/LWT is now one of the largest ITV companies and oldest surviving of the originators. It's most famous programme is "Coronation Street" (A soap opera, now shown four times a week at peak time).
