* In 1978 London Weekend Television withdrew the episode 'Klansman' from screening, citing that the episode contained characterisations and themes that "...some viewers would have been disturbed by ". The episode contained racist themes and was pulled; to date it has never been screened on terrestrial television in the UK (although it has turned up in subsequent runs elsewhere and is available uncut on PRV).

Without Walls: "The Professionals" |
documentary/ interviews (c.30min) |
CH4 |
![]()
Re-runs of the series in the UK have been confined to subscription channels, where repeats have proven fruitful. The reason for lack of a more public airing have been open to much conjecture over many years (payments of repeat fees being a recurrent theme); the most confident reasons were expressed by all the involved parties in a Channel Four 'Without Walls' documentary.
Novelisations:
Fifteen novelisations were written of the series, all by Ken Blake (published by Sphere) although given titles from individual episodes, many actually cover the events of more than one story. Most titles from this range of books, although out of print are still quite easy to find today.
