The following pictures were all taken with the K750i mobile phone which has a 2 mega pixel camera. The pictures this phone takes in my opinion are excellent considering that it is a phone and not a dedicated digital camera. However, having said that, if you zoom in, the picture quality drops slightly and the edges look a bit "ragged". The zoom is digital, not optical. It won't be long I guess before phones start reaching 3 mega-pixels or more.
All digital picture quality regardless of whether its a decicated digital camera or a phone isn't just dependant on the mega pixel. The camera lens and the software that processes the image all play a part in the overall quality of a device. Another factor is the image format. Also remember that the brighter the image, the better the picture. Dark pictures tend to be "grainy". I have to say thought, the the low light capabilities of the K750i are very good and thats without the Night Mode selected nor the light turned on.

All these pictures were taken on the Medium picture-size setting which is 640 x 480 with quality set to Fine.
All movies were taken on the Large setting which is 176 x 144.
A comparison between the Medium and Large picture settings which are 640 x 480 and 1632 x 1224 pixels respectively and the Night Mode function.
