19th October 2004
  • Well it looks like the wait is over, the circus is back in town. Do you like circuses? I love circuses, me. I want that one. And on and on... In all probability Four Eyed Sometimes will be playing the Town Hall Punk Night on Bonfire Night 5th November 2004. We only just decided/found out, so it's likely to be a half hour on and off, wham bam thank you mam,  and then a jump about to Richie's disco, and a good drink. All I can say is...it's about bloody time.
  • I love circuses!!!
  • Hopefully I'll have some more news regarding the Dave Johnson fundraiser gig soon too. We're thinking of Xmas time, and in a boozer in the town, so it's got that "packed to the rafters" feel about it.
31st July 2004
  • You'll have looked at the news on the home page. Nothing been happening whatsoever, all of the band haven't even been in the same room together since last November, when we played the Town Hall for Children in Need. We did raise quite abit of money, but we didn't particularly enjoy the gig, we messed up a few songs due to under rehearsal, and as usual we didn't have any new songs. We allways have good intentions then leave it to the last minute. Anyway, to cut a long story short. The End. Well, to make a very short story a bit longer, we've been offered the Town Hall again on Bonfire Night, but we don't know what to do. The Town Hall could be good if they let more people in, but as it is, it's got no atmosphere, man... Even if we don't play there's a punk night planned for then anyway, so get yourself there. See this link for more details
  • As you'll have seen from the home page we're thinking about a memorial gig for Dave Johnson. I'm hoping that this will be sooner rather than later. He was a great bloke, and deserves to be remembered. Whether we'll be covering Tales From Topographic Oceans for the occasion remains to be seen....
15th February 2003
  • Beer Festival was a blast, both bands went down well, and we raised £200 for Butterwick Hospice, which was cool.
  • Actually going to start work on a full length CD soon, as we have no gigs on the near horizon (only the Tut in May, but that's subject to change..)
  • Two or three new songs in the works, Heavens To Betsy is one, other don't have titles, other than Xmas One, which (obviously) won't be the final title. Still pestering to get Oh! Me Tent's On Fire onto disc. We'll see...
  • Thanks again to Tadge and Ritz and the rest of the Chowders, the last few gigs have been good fun, hopefully there will be more.... Don't forget to check out their website
13th January 2003
  • Stanhope with Chowders went well, raised over £180, for Stanhope MS Society.
  • Looking forward to the Town Hall now, hopefully we'll have a couple of new songs to premier there, but don't hold yer breath!!
1st November 2002
  • Some upcoming gigs to report: 28th December at the Tut with Chowder Boy, and 14th Feb 2003 at the Town Hall, Bishop Beer Festival, to launch the second album and drink. With the Chowder Boys again.
  • Played a successful gig at partners 12th October with Chowder Boy to raise funds for MS. Good gig. Hats off to Gary.
  • New songs written for the new album, re-arranged from the gig: Testicular Fortitude, Buttfukker, Older..Budvar, Lick The Dish and two new as yet untitled ones. More news soon...
  • We're doing a split CD with the Chowder Puffs again to raise cash for MS. Should be a 6 tracker (?) one original, one cover and a cover of each others song. Don't know when this will be out.
23rd March 2002
  • No band news, but Heza is now the proud father of a baby daughter, Lois, born last Thursday, 21st March. Congratulations!!!! Consequently practising may be slowed down slightly, but we're still on course for a good half dozen new/different songs in the set list for The Bostonian 27th April 2002, which could look something like this....
  • Bad Times
  • West Park Mustard
  • Testicular Fortitude
  • Older....Budvaar
  • Resolution (Slight Return)
  • I've Got A Buttfukka Up My Butt
  • Lick The Dish
  • Take The Skinheads Bowling
  • F.U.
  • Bubbletank
  • Hole Again
Stay tuned....
24th January 2002
  • First news of 2002, the anniversary year. Since last October we have been busy writing and recording songs for the new CD, and to play live in April, to celebrate the 10th year of doing this old shit. So far we have 10 songs written with 4 of them recorded, hopefully for a new album, which should be available in time for the round of gigs which are coming up.
  • We will be playing The Bostonian on the last weekend of April (27th to be exact), with Burco, from Newcastle, and then again at the Town Hall, in June, an MS fund raiser, with Weasel, and Chowder Boy, and after that we should be playing in and around Newcastle, again with Burco.
  • Wanna know what the new stuff is like? Well you'll just have to wait and see, but some song titles are on the songs page.
  • There are plans afoot for another barn show, in the summer - who remembers the last one? Not even most people who we there, including me! I think Georgie might want to warn the hospital...Nothing definite yet, but we'll see.
15th October 2001
  • Just realised that this December is the 10th (ulp) anniversary of FES, when we spent many a drunken night in the Station in Bish, planning how we would conquer the world. Obviously we didn't reach world domination, but we're still here, so I think an anniversary party of some description would be good. Maybe we could get a few decent support bands and not play ourselves? Maybe we could get Bigg Biff's to reform and then we wouldn't have a crowd (only joking Robert!). Or maybe we could get Chowder Boy to headline, and then we could all get pissed early...Any suggestions please email
 8th October 2001
  • Amendment to Saturday. Looks like the One Car Pile-Up Gig will be off, with Christians going tits up. Still, if you get the chance to see them elsewhere, take it!
 6th October 2001
  • No news for a while. The band has been rehearsing and writing new songs for a new album, and upcoming gigs, currently being arranged for November/December time, in Newcastle, Ashington, Hartlepool and of course Bish....
  • The new songs continue in the classic FES vein, but with catchier hooks, and more bizarre lyrics, if that's possible. Titles Include "Testicle Fortitude", so you see what I'm getting at. Hopefully MP3 type audio of two of the newies will be available here soon.
  • ....but don't hold yer breath...
  • On another note, Wakefield band One Car Pile-Up will be playing Christians Bar in Bishop Auckland, on November 17th 2001. Expect some high octane high quality punk rock from them. It's a Saturday night too, so get yer drinking head on! Check out their website on www.onecarpileup.com See you there...
 18th May 2001
  • 9 days to go to the next big gig. Covers galore being rehearsed, mostly in a "similar" vein, if y'know what I mean.......
  • St Patrix Photos updated to site today. Check out those crowd surfers - Jimmy Craggs, you get everywhere. Here's a link to that page
  • Still waiting for the official review, Nev!
  • See you all next week...........
 27th April 2001
  • After the sad news of Joey Ramone losing his long battle against cancer the Four Eyeds are to play again at Christians, as a tribute the man, on 27th May 2001. Expect an almost brand new set, currently being rehearsed, which may, or may not, include some Ramones songs, as well as some surprises. The support band might be someone a bit special too.., maybe!
  • Nev has informed me that his review of the last gig is complete and will be up on the site soon.....don't hold yer breath though...
  • I'm so happy, gonna burn the house down....
 2nd April 2001

  • Guestbook updated, so it actually works, and people are actually using it - so we're not in the wilderness...

13th March 2001.
  • Four days to go - are we ready? Maybe, maybe not, you'd better go and find out! Expect a full gig report, with photos early next week.
  • Rich has promised that the lyric page will be updated with at least some of the old lyrics, before gig time.
  • Also the web page address will be altered to the more user friendly www.foureyedsometimes.com just as soon as I register the name, if anyone is still interested after the gig!
  • Change of plan regarding the Shovels Out CD - we've decided to keep the remaster unreleased, and concentrate on a new bunch of songs, ready for a new album before the year end. There might be a few copies of the old album kicking about at the gig, if you're really keen..........

 2nd February 2001.
  • Three rehearsals down the line, FES are getting ready for their first gig of the new Millennium, which is now officially scheduled for St Patricks Day, 17th March 2001, at Christians Bar, Bishop Auckland. Details of these new songs are a closely guarded secret, and shall remain so until gig time!
  • Biography Page, 1991 to where, updated, from 91 to 92.
