Welcome to Peter Tribe's
Home Page

Model aircraft flying has been my hobby for as long as I can remember, starting initially with various sports models, but specialising between 1957 to 1966 in Control line, and especially COMBAT.

Round about 1985 I joined the BRISTOL AND WEST MODEL AERO CLUB, a well established group of enthusiasts flying mainly Free Flight Duration Competition models, i.e. launch them and run after them.

Peter Perry and Peter Tribe, 1st and 2nd in the COMBAT International event, Belgium 1961, both flying the RAZORBLADE design flying wing Control line model.

The B&W club was established in 1933, and has a membership of about 40, who compete in many of the National events, and also regularly travel overseas to International events.

My favourite event is Gliders, usually to International class F1A, or the smaller class F1H. Both are constructed in a similar manner utilising composites from carbon fibre and kevlar, the larger models being 2.5 metres span and weighing about 430 grams.

I am the newsletter editor for the club (and also Secretary) and consequently am able to provide on this site the latest issue of this publication.

These pages have been constructed by my Son, William, because I'm too thick!
