Welcome to my site
My interest in Fuchsias began back in 1987 when my wife Margaret wanted a hanging basket. A work mate of mine grew plants for baskets so I asked his advice on which plants I needed, he gave me various plants to use. When the plants flowered one in particular stood out, so I asked him what it was,that one he said is a Fuchsia. The bug had been bitten, why I don't know as I have never had the slightest interest in growing any plants. -------I started collecting different varieties from garden center ,then I discovered specialist Fuchsia nurseries and Fuchsia societies so I joined Edenbridge Fuchsia and Pelargonium Soc. to learn as much as possible about growing Fuchsias and I also started to grow Pelargoniums. I soon got the show bug and went on to win some trophies.
I also joined Gillingham and Horley Societies in the quest for more tips from the different speakers, most of whom I have got to know. I joined the British Fuchsia Society and entered the London show at Uxbridge and won the novice cup. I went on to win various trophies and the year 2000 being the best with several trophies in both Fuchsias and Pelargoniums at national level ------I moved to Langley near Maidstone Kent in 1997 and joined the Mid Kent Society .
I was retired from work in 98 through a spinal injury, but I am still able to grow Fuchsias & Geraniums with a little help from my wife Margaret and friends.
In february 2002 we moved to Dorset and I joined the Bournemouth and Poole Fuchsia soc. and as I also grow Pelargoniums so I joined Taunton Fuchsia and Pelargonium Soc. They are all friendly as are all "Fuchsia Folk"-----------. In October 0002 I passed the BFS Judges exam and I am now an Accredited Judge
In 2004 I passed the pelargonium Judges Exam and in September we moved back to Kent and I now have a 8.5ft X 12.3ft greenhouse as the rear garden is only small.
I have now completed the B.F.S judges exam and I am now a national judge in both Fuchsias and Pelargoniums.
