In-store interviews as part of shopping behaviour analysis

We often interview shoppers, but only after they have interacted with the research category. During the subsequent analysis their responses are compared with their actual behaviour and any untrue information identified.  This approach is great for understanding shopper emotions in the context and reality of a shopping experience.

Fact:- When shown a specific display, interviewees said they preferred it over the other units. Shopping behaviour research proved otherwise. They actually spent less time and bought less from the new fixture

Fact:- After combining shopping behaviour analysis and interview data it was discovered that a new store design could be further improved. After the changes were made, product sales increased by 12%
