There have been dramatic improvements in renewable energy technology during the last decade. Modern technology is clean, efficient and easy to use. Costs are coming down and grants are available to help with installations. At the moment, most systems are being installed by environmentally conscious individuals. However, as the negative effects of global warming become increasingly obvious, the use of fossil fuels will become socially unacceptible. The cost of heating with fossil fuels is set to rise. Installing renewable energy systems now makes financial sense as well as being the responsible choice.
With its abundant coal reserves, Wales was at the forefront of the industrial revolution. It is also rich in renewable energy resources which could be of great benefit to us if our politicians have the vision and we have the confidence to embrace renewable energy. Some areas of Wales still aspire to connect to natural gas, thinking that they are joining the modern world! The world is moving on. natural gas is running out and will become increasingly expensive.
