Review

Ahmed a nobleman exiled from his Arabian homeland finds himself destined to travel and fight with a small group of fierce, warrior people from the North . The experiences gained from his past life will not travel well, however something about Ahmed suggests he will make a valuable contribution. He journeys north with the twelve Vikings in a quest to defend their native people from a deadly and unidentifiable force. The only shreds of information being passed down from the legends of Viking forefathers. The action unfolds as the warriors engage an enemy which appears overwhelming, yet as this film develops so do the relationships between the 12 Vikings and the 13th Warrior. It is the collective efforts of this group which eventually leads to… leads to….. (well you should find out for yourself). As for EXTRAS, not much to report here, one trailer and chapter search and thats it!

Atmosphere
Ford Right from the beginning it oozed quality.
Arthur What can I say, I agree with Ford. I didn't watch the film, I was drawn into it.

Plot
Arthur It was good, I liked it. Michael Crichton excelling himself.
Ford Yeh, I'll go with that.

Special Effects
Ford CGI was generally good (with only 1 exception).
Arthur The CGI was terrible, awful worst of all unbelievable.

Sound
Arthur I thought it was good, at times outstanding.
Ford Music by Graeme Revell enhanced movie without being obtrusive. Separation to the front speakers was very good.

Acting
Ford Fine and believable. Vikings with Irish accents were a point of note.
Arthur Credible, good, etc…

Overall
Arthur & Ford A viewing and listening pleasure. Pleasantly surprising as we had no particular expectations regarding this film. We recommend it, and that doesn't always happen.
