Review

I think if you love this film then you are of the age to have seen it the first time round. Because in its day it was one of the most futuristic and superb special effects films ever made. And who would argue with you?

But the reason I have only given it 2 stars out of five is just because I find it bloody boring to watch! I know the effects are brilliant even compared to todays' standard but lets face it, its not Star Wars. I must addmit though I do love the theme tune even if you don't hear it till the end credits.

Anyway for anyone out there that has never actually seen the film and that can't be too many, here's the plot. Harrison Ford (don't get too excited) plays Rick Deckard, a 'blade runner' (hence the title). A blade runner basically runs about trying to shoot replicants, confused? O.K then, blade runners are human and replicants aren't, there happy now? The humans of the 21st century created these replicants which look identical to us, problem being they made the crucial mistake of making them to clever and thus the replicants turned on the humans.

The plot develops as all the replicants seem to want is to be human although this is a bit hard as some bright chap decided to give them a life span of only four years. But its not all running about shooting this and that (unfortunately), no there is a romance in the air. One of the replicants (Rachael played by Sean Young) falls in love with Decker and vice versa.

Right I'm fed up writing about this dvd now. If you haven't seen Blade Runner then borrow it from a friends house as someone you know has a copy. Watch it and decide for yourself.

As for Extras, What Extras, you'd think a film of this magnitude would have loads of guff to fire on the dvd, but all we get treated to is a cast biography which is pathetic. Oh I nearly forgot there's a scene access screen as well.
