City of Angels is a story of our lives, and how each day our own personal angel makes life easier for us. However Seth (Nicholas Cage) can't make Maggie's (Meg Ryan) sorrow disappear when she loses a patient in the operating theatre. As he watches her pain he is drawn to her and falls in love with this woman who can't see him and who he can't feel. What would happen if an Angel allowed himself to fall in love and revealed his true identity to the human being he loves? That's what City of Angels is all about, two souls reaching for each other and finding a way to be together no matter the cost.
This film is one of my personal favourites, great scenes and good effects, and Nicholas Cage and Meg Ryan are thoroughly believable in their respective roles. The film is backed up with an incredible soundtrack, some of the videos for the songs are on the DVD. Another nice feature of the DVD is the menu system which draws on the film's visual splendour. At just under two hours this film is well worth a watch, it will surprise you and may even make you cry!
An excellent selection of extras on this one. From the common scene selections to the rarities of commentaries and making of documentaries. There is also two music videos included on this disc, great songs from the Goo Goo Dolls and U2. The only thing missing was DVD-ROM accessories, but I'm still going to give it a 5/5 for the quality of the extas they did enclude.
