Review
This film from Disney took 12 years to make and is best
described as an animation which is like nothing you'll have seen before. Disney
has made a film which you'll keep asking yourself, is this a cartoon or is it
real? In my opinion the first 15mins of this film contains the best jaw dropping
special effects you'll ever see, I think Disney knew this too as they used it
for the trailer. From then on however it is the story line which takes over
and the cartoon begins (you have to have something for the kids!).
The basic story line is about a herd of dinosaurs overcoming
the challenge of their lives. A Good film for the grown ups too as it rush's
along at a frantic pace and has quite a lot of laughs throughout.
The sound and visual qualities are fantastic, with Dolby
Digital and DTS on the same disc you can hear for yourself which is the more
impressive. I always watch with the DTS enabled as I find you get a bit more
bass and this sounds great with the explosions and great big dinosaurs running
about. The picture quality is amazing, look out for the part where the bird
flys over the cliff.
If you want a night in with the kids then watch this
film, they'll love it and you can enjoy it too!
Extras
There is too much to go into. You get two discs with
this film and there is loads on both. If you were to watch all the extras it
would take you ten times longer than the film lasts itself. This is great to
see and all credit goes to Disney for putting the effort in and making a great
DVD that gives true value for money!
