Each photographic moment takes place at not only the instant of a shutter but the culmintion of a lifetime

Here is a collection of images which don't fall into any of the other categories. They include some digitally manipulated work; images relying on strong colours and others subtle ones; and images showing the use of strong lighting and others undirectional lighting. There are so many different ways of conveying a scene - let me show you just a few.

buddhist statue One of the common features to be found in any buddhist monastery is the many statues and shrines paying homage to numerous buddhas and other important figures of the religion. Most are covered with gold and some, like you see here, are highly decorated.

city rooftops The Edinburgh skyline never looked like this before! This is one of a series I produced digitally showing a transition from reality to impressionistic.

beer barrels One thing the Irish are known for is their love of Guiness and there is certainly no shortage of pubs in which to find a pint. I came across this scene and just had to take some photographs. I like the simple colours, the arrangement of the barrels and of course the sidelighting.

flying jet boat New Zealanders certainly know how to enjoy themselves; after all, bungy jumping started here. Jet boating is huge fun but you have to be prepared to get wet. I recommend sitting at the back of the boat if you want the most thrilling ride!
