Mens novice, beginner to 7th kyu Kata, Aaron Curtis 'Gold' Christian Paesch 'Silver' Mens 6th -4th kyu Kata Dan Smith 'Gold' Ladies Novice 7th Kyu Kata Emily Troeger 'Bronze' Mens Novice 7th Kyu Kumite, Aaron Curtis 'Gold' It must be noted that the University team were paired up with the World championship team and although lost did so with much spirit and determination and were a credit to their team mates and the club. Club competition results, Saturday 4th April 2009, S.E.K.U. Championships, Mountbatten centre, Portsmouth RESULTS:- Gary Page 3rd in Kata, Paul Nicholson 4th in Kata, Rachel Jackson Ist in Ladies Kumite, Gary Page 1st in mens Kumite, Mafiana Ifunanya 3rd in mens Kumite, Team Kumite Joint 3rd, These are excellent results, well done to ALL club competitors, keep up the excellent standard and lets be ready for the next competition in 2009. Competition results from the S.E.K.U Championships 19th March 2005 at the Mountbatten sports centre:
- Alex Barrie 1st place, 10th to 4th Kyu Individual Kata section.
- Simon Wain 2nd place 10th to 4th Kyu Individual Kata section.
- Stuart Janicki 3rd place Brown Belt Individual Kata section.

Shotokan of England Karate Union Annual Championships held at the Mountbatten centre, Alexandra park, Portsmouth.
Results:
- Stuart Janicki, Mens Individual Black Belt Kata, 3rd place.
- Pete Opie, Mens Individual Junior grade Kata, 3rd place.
- Naomi Randle, Womans Individual Junior grade Kata, 4th place.
In November 2003, two members of the club took part in the SEKU Open Championships, competing in both individual and team based katas.
Results:
- Stuart Janicki, 1st Place in 10th-4th Kyu Individual Kata.
- Chris Coe, 1st Place in Team Based Kata (Black Belt).
Congratulations to them! Keep it up and hopefully by the next competition we will have some more entrants and some more trophies!
