The University of Portmouth Karate Club has been in existence for over 35 years and has a growing and active membership. The club's Chief Instructor, Phil Bryant, is a 3rd Dan Black belt with over 28 years teaching experience. U.P.K.C. is affiliated to The Shotokan of England Karate Union (S.E.K.U.). The U.P.K.C. is run with an elected committee of students who regularly organize competitions, gradings and social events for members to take part in.

Training sessions are held every Monday and Wednesday during term time (excluding bank holidays), and are held on the first floor in studio 1 of the Nuffield sports Centre. Details of exact times and venue can be found in the 'information' section. Our first training session this acedemic year is on Monday 6th October.
