- From M3:
- Leave by Junction 6 signposted for A339. Follow signs for A340, District Hospital, Tadley, Aldermaston. At start of A340 notice on your LEFT AA building and then the
District Hospital.
- Go along A340 for about 4 miles, passing through SHERBORNE ST.
JOHN.
- Then about ½ mile further notice brown sign to The Vyne. Turn RIGHT.
- After about 1 mile at T-junction, turn RIGHT into VYNE ROAD.
- The Vyne is 1 mile on RIGHT. Park in the Main Car Park.
- From M4:
- Leave by Junction 11 signposted for A33 Basingstoke. At SECOND roundabout 200 yds from motorway, continue over for a distance of 6 miles. At roundabout take RIGHT turning to SHERFIELD on LODDON. In 100 yards, at staggered junction, go straight across.
- Follow road for about 3 miles to BRAMLEY.
- At the end of BRAMLEY village there is a brown sign to The Vyne. Turn LEFT into VYNE ROAD.
- The Vyne is about 2 miles on the RIGHT. Park in the Main Car Park.
Built in the early 16th Century for Lord Sandys, Henry VIII's
Lord Chamberlain. Sold in 1653 to Chaloner Chute, a fearless
advocate, who ended his career as Speaker of the House of
Commons under Richard Cromwell. House stayed in the family until
1956 when the last in the line - at the Vyne - bequeathed it
plus contents and 1,000 acres to the Trust.
