1966 And All That

by Jane & Mark Lewis

40 years on as World cup fever gripped the nation in the long(ish) hot Summer we were not immune from the excitement.
Governing Body meetings had to be rescheduled in case of miraculous progress. The alternative England squad was formed from the cuddly toy menagerie: Peter Ouch, John Teddy, Steven Doggard, David Peckham and so on. They did have one match where they gave the team fielded by the garden wildlife a run for their money.

Anniversary

Also, Mark’s parents have been married for 40 years, many of them happy. We celebrated with a family weekend away and the traditional Lewis family day out to a theme park with white knuckle rides. Followed by an evening of music, mirth and mayhem.

Donkey Oatey

The Play Wot I Wrote

Inspired by re-writing songs for the anniversary talent night Ethan and Simeon wrote and starred in their own nativity play for church - called Donkey Oatey. Written from the animals point-of-view the play tells the story of the first Christmas.

Time to reflect

In a year that has forced us to really think about our priorities and the future of our church’s involvement in the community it was good to be reminded of the importance of Jesus being ‘God With Us’ through celebration and sadness.  Wishing you a joy-filled Christmas and a happy New Year.
