Current work :

I am inspired by colour, texture and pattern found in nature and the natural environment. My current work has developed from studying shell surfaces. I have used layering of fabrics, embroidery, (hand and machine) cutting back and manipulating to interpret the ridges, patterns, colours and textures explored. I also enjoy making textile jewellery and often my wall-hung work incorporates jewellery making techniques and hangs loosely inside deep bow frames. In contrast to these small jewel like pieces, I sometimes work on a much larger scale, making rag rungs using recycled, often hand dyed fabrics.
