I was sure it was to be a disaster I felt I was racing towards the exhibition without any focus or any work I was vaguely happy with. Disheartened with previous work I discarded the piece of hand made fabric intended for a wall hanging to the bottom of my project box. It was then I noticed it's transformation from boring wall hanging to innovative handbag.

I began to work on a collection of bags the would not let practicality stand in the way of their beauty.

Through the tactile quality of hand made fabrics, a hands on approach allowed a greater freedom and challenge. This has created a new form of expression and spontaneity which when mixed with controlled hand stitching has began a new personal style which I have enjoyed exploring and using. Each bag in turn has inspired and enriched the next this is a collection which I intend to carry on with.
