INFORMATION FOR THOSE LOOKING FOR SUPERVISION

HOW DO I WORK

My favoured way of thinking is psychoanalytic but having had an integrative and transpersonal training, I'm happy to work within these parameters too. I spent 11 years working for Relate so I'm experienced in couple work.

I stress the importance of the transference and countertransference as experienced within both the therapeutic relationship and the supervisory situation.

MY EXPERIENCE

I've acted as a supervisor for many years, working with individuals and groups, both privately and for a counselling organization. Therefore, I'm experienced at helping with those in training, recently trained or more senior.

My formal supervisor training was at Leicester University with Michael Jacobs and Moira Walker.

My qualifications as a therapist are listed in the BAC entry but briefly, I have an MA, I'm a Senior Registered Counsellor with BAC and UKCP registered

WHAT DO 'THEY' THINK OF ME?

The feedback I receive from those who come to me regularly is consistent. I'm considered challenging but safe to work with.

People do not usually find it hard to share their mistakes because they learn that these are used as a chance to develop. I'm rarely critical, being too aware of my own propensity to mistakes! I believe a good trusting relationship is essential for good supervision.

I understand my role as that of a teacher as well as a supervisor. I wish to see those who work with me grow and develop as practitioners. Everyone who has come for any length of time has achieved BAC accreditation.
