[31/1] Criccieth 30/1: EULOMENE of Liverpool form Calcutta, Menmuir, owners
Fernie & Co, is aground on causeway; crew (29) landed at Pwllheli.
Carnarvon 30/1: The ship EULOMENE of Liverpool with general cargo is
wrecked on St Patrick's Causeway, Cardigan Bay; crew all landed at Pwllheli.

[1/2] Criccieth 30/1: Two fishing boats from Pwllheli and a tug from
Portmadoc have gone out to the EULOMENE, ashore on St Patrick's Causeway
London 31/1: Liverpool Salvage Association report: Capt Archer, with tug,
steam pump, steam cargo hoist and men left last evening and expected at ship
by noon today. Instructed if he sees chance of floating, not to hesitate,
but jettison cargo. Meanwhile hear local craft have gone off to save what
possible, and our local agent is instructed to have further craft and men at
hand if wanted.
Liverpool 31/1: The tug sent with steam appliances to the EULOMENE has
called at Pwllheli and reports blowing gale form SW. Impossible to board.

[2/2] Portmadoc 31/1: The EULOMENE ship of Liverpool, stranded on St
Patrick's Causeway, fills with the tide and is likely to become a total
wreck. Some sails and bolts of canvas, and sundry other things, were landed
here by Portmadoc tug this morning.

[4/2] London 2/2: The Liverpool Salvage Association report telegram from
Capt Archer: vessel has slight list to starboard, masts intact, vessel stern
to sea.

[5/2] London 4/2: The Liverpool Salvage Association reports: EULOMENE -
main deck much out of shape, fore and main masts settled about one foot,
slacking part rigging; midship house and topgallant forecastle washed away
and cabin gutted; bulwarks and stanchions on port side broken; water rises
and falls with the tide; saved some sails; too much sea for craft to stay
alongside on Saturday [2/2]

[7/2] Liverpool: EULOMENE - vessel moved position slightly during recent
gale - poor chance of saving vessel but some cargo may be saved if weather
moderates.

[20/2] London: Liverpool Salvage Association reports the EULOMENE sold for
£720.

[21/2] Official Board of Trade Enquiry to be held at Liverpool 23/2/1884.
