L631 VNV
1994 Rover 820i
Bought: August 2007 for £Free, 93,000 miles
Sold: December 2007 for £60, 93,000 miles

My first free car this, via a friend of a friend so to speak.  Acquired with one day's MOT and tax remaining, it had served it's purpose of blocking the kerb outside the previous owner's house, to stop kids from using it as a skateboard ramp.

Let's just say that the preceding 13 years and 10 owners haven't always been kind to the Rover, and it needs a bit of work before it rejoins the highway.  MOT-critical stuff includes a new driver's door handle and an exhaust.  Non-MOT-critical stuff includes servicing, new gearbox oil (1st and 2nd sound like a Moulinex Magimix), a clutch, a remote for the central locking, a towbar and a stereo.  Huge bootspace though so once it's up and running I can see it fulfilling the role of the late, great Omega quite adequately.

Update 9.12.07: I gave up in the end, particularly as I couldn't get the starter motor off the gearbox housing to change the clutch. Besides which I'd bought a 405 estate to fill it's role anyway.
