Another bargain car, this one was cheap because it was listed in the 'Parts and workshop manuals' section of eBay. Drove it home from London, grinning all the way round the M25 passing people who had probably just paid the same amount to fill their fuel tank...
Needed a bloody good clean, inside and out, a set of wheeltrims and a good service to look presentable. It idled high which I never fully got to the bottom of - I cleared the breathers, but being a modern car with a 'cat' and fuel injection you couldn't do the sensible thing and lower the idle speed, it was all ECU-controlled.
Still, it drove much better than I remember Mk3 Cavaliers doing, and the engine was smooth as you like. Sold to a bloke from the Vauxhall Owner's Network. I made what amounted to a couple of rounds of drinks on the deal...
