Dr Geraint Rhys Jones FRCP, Consultant Physician at Blackburn, trained
in Diabetes and Endocrinology in
Co-author of the original “Scotch Cast” paper in healing diabetic foot
ulcers. He was an early member of
Diabetes Education Study Group (DESG) and Founder Member of the Association of
British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD), Diabetes European Foot Group (DEFG) and
Chairman of Charcot Diabetes UK (CDUK).
He maintains a high level of clinical work with a major interest and
reputation in the prevention and care of the diabetic foot. He has a broad research interest in diabetes
therapies, neuropathy, foot ulceration and secondary prevention.
