Above left we see Mr Mickey Lovell, manager of the most successful St Joseph's Youth team in the history of the club photographed with his teams trophies. In season 95/96, the team remained unbeaten in all four competitions open to them, winning the League Championship, West Wales Cup, League Cup and Boys Clubs of Wales Cup. The team is pictured on the right. A remarkable feat which was almost matched by the squad of 98/99 managed by Ray Davies and Tony Davies. This squad won the League Championship, West Wales Cup and Boys Clubs of Wales Cup but were narrowly beaten by fierce rivals West End FC in the final of the League Cup, 2 - 1 after leading. The "Class of 98/99" is below pictured with manager Ray Davies (left) and Coach Tony Davies(right). The picture below right shows the same team prior to defeating Mumbles 2-1 in the West Wales Cup at Vetch Field.

The Colts were conceived in 1975 when the parish priest, Father Driscoll, (later to become Canon),approached Mr John Dempster to discuss forming a football team consisting of the boys from the school and parish. John immediately took the bull by the horns and recruited Mr Derek Collins and Mr Jeff Harding and between them formed three teams. John was manager of the under 14's, Jeff, the 13's and Derek the 11's. The first trophy arrived that season when the 14's won the Swansea Junior League six-a-side competition. John Dempster was the main driving force which has made the Colts undoubtedly one of the top junior clubs in and around Swansea, and is still a major source of information and advice for all the young managers running our sides today. John is currently a life member of the Colts and also the Swansea Junior League. He has taken teams on many successful tours and has made friends for the club in Germany. Jeff went on to become the treasurer of the Swansea Junior League, a post he still holds with enthusiasm and relish. Derek's team became a tremendous success and was the first Colts team to stick together all the way through to senior football.
