Yoga and Pilates Weekend - Kent
October 2009: Friday 9th - Sunday 11th
Join Tracey Bindloss and Catherine Annis for a magical Autumn weekend in deepest Kent, exploring the subtleties of yoga and Pilates for a whole weekend. With great food, good company, and beautiful surroundings, we can truly relax and peel away the layers to reveal the natural freedom of the body. On this very special weekend, Tracey Bindloss and I will be working together, providing a mix of Pilates and Yoga sessions, so you get the benefits of both discliplines - the technique and postural structure of Pilates, and the relaxation, awareness and quietness of yoga. Robert will be on hand to massage away aching muscles, turning this into truly a body and mind experience. Return home feeling longer, stronger, calmer, and more grounded.

Commonwork Farm
We will be spending this weekend at Commonwork Farm, set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, near to Sevenoaks. Bore Place House (our accommodation) is an old Tudor manor house with Jacobean and Victorian extensions. There is a large comfortable sitting room with an open fire for those chillier autumn and winter weekends. It is surrounded by an ancient walled garden with a beautiful lily pond, and the working organic dairy farm, pottery and brickworks that make up Commonwork Farm. This special and unspoiled environment makes for a very relaxed weekend with a great sense of freedom. There is wonderful walking amongst the thousands of acres of surrounding countryside. Suitable clothing and walking boots are advisable. Yoga and Pilates sessions take place in the listed 16th Century converted barn, an atmospheric space, being part of a group of historic barns within a courtyard, which have been renovated and converted to provide a comfortable and peaceful environment.

Pilates
Pilates is a form of body conditioning which accentuates muscular harmony and flexibility and strengthens the body, teaching awareness of breath and spinal alignment. It also seeks to redress postural issues. It is an ideal form of exercise for those who suffer from back complaints. It is also applicable for post natal, post rehabilitation and chronic pain relief.
