The Gods of Kal Tarathorn

All the god's names end in -zon (pronounced - thon). This is an honorific term which means lord and god and can also be applied to very powerful individual such as the kings of the Seven Cities and the emperor. It is considered a great insult (especially to a priest) to refer to a god without the -zon.

Collectively the gods are referred to as The Thirteen. Legend has it that before the rise of the intelligent races the world was a paradise. Then, out of the east a mighty dragon came, attempting to devour all the creatures of the world. A huge lion came out of the north to battle the dragon and in the resulting combat tore each other apart. The lion's head became the moon and the dragon's tail, the mountain range to the north. Their blood mingled and created the Tar'an Nor (the desert to the south) and the pieces of their flesh rose up as the gods and the intelligent races.
