We have set ourselves an ambitious target for Leicester Pride: to work with the Leicestershire lesbian, gay and bisexual community for liberation and equality. We hope to do this by stressing community invovlement in all aspects of the festival.

There are three main ways for community groups to get involved:

• join the parade with a banner, float, dancing troup or whatever else grabs your imagination!
• showcase your group in the community marquee at the festival and recruit new members, give out information and raise the profile of your group's interests and needs.
• help plan one of the activities in the Festival Village to make the day a stunning success (the Football Tournament at this year's festival is being orchestrated by Leicester Wildecats).

Remember, if we don't know your ideas, we can't help you act on them. For many of the activities outlined above, Pride can help with sharing good ideas, publicity and funding. To find out more about how your group can get involved, please contact the Pride Committee.
