Who am I and why did I make a home page?

Greetings

So you're curious about who I am or why I created this web site, well look no further and all your questions will be answered . Firstly I would like to say hello to the following: Rak, Roop, Suki, Al, Darren, Russell, Jon, Paul, Mike, Tony, Phil, Ian, Kate, Dora, Rash, Gez, Geoff, Steve and everyone I know.

 About me.

My name is Richard Amuzu and I am from Birmingham , England in the U.K. I currently live in Nottingham where I work for Marconi Communications (formerly GPT) a large telecommunications company as a software engineer. I graduated from Coventry University with a BSc. (Hons) Computer Science degree. The quotation at the bottom of this and other pages is from Niel Gaiman's Sandman comic (printed under DC ComicsVertigo^TM Label) and was chosen as I started using Morpheus as an e-mail alias during my university days. Morpheus was the main character in the Sandman comic.

I enjoy all the usual activities in my spare time such as going to watch movies at the cinema, snooker, pool and bowling and often go to clubs and pubs in the Birmingham and Nottingham areas. I regularly play badminton with friends and practiced Shotokan Karate in which I hold a first dan black belt for a number of years although I am currently not training. I have a mild interest in football and support my local football team Birmingham City FC although I very seldom get to the ground to see them play but when a match is on can often be found in one of the blues pubs in town with friends watching it on TV when televised or at home listening to the commentary. I am an avid reader especially of science fiction and fantasy and my favourite authors are Clive Barker, Stephen King, Isaac Asimov and Terry Pratchett. I am also a hi-fi enthusiast and I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music including rock, metal, jazz and classical music. I am a bit of a Pink Floyd fan, but also like The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Peter Gabriel, Radiohead, and Jimi Hendrix to name but a few. I have collected comics for many years and currently collect a number of titles mainly from the DC Vertigo line including Hellblazer, various Sandman spin-offs and Bone.

I have a general interest in computing on both the serious and leisure side andI enjoy playing games particularly flight simulations, driving games and adventures although I also like a quick blast with FPS now and then. On the serious side of computing I am interested in programming (a definite advantage for a software developerr :-) ), plus the odd bit of web design and desktop publishing. I no longer upgrade my hardware as much as I used to, but its not uncommon to see me with the lid of one of my PC's off :-)

Why I created this web site.

I created this web site for a number of reasons, all of which are equally valid so take your pick:

• My ISP provides web space.
• My friends were running out of home pages to link to and asked me to create my home page.
• I wanted to try using HTML.
• There was a space on my signature where my university e-mail address used to be.
• I was testing an HTML editor and it just happened.
• I bought Office 97 and decided to see how good the web authoring facilities were.
• I thought someone out there with similar interests might like it and find it useful.
• I wanted to try my web browser with my own start page.

The contents of this web site.

This web site is based around my interests. Hence there are links to bands and artists I like, karate and martial arts links, comics and computing. I have also included links to sites of friends on the Internet and organisations I am or have been connected with. If you feel that there is something missing from this site which you believe I may find interesting based on the sites content or have any comments or suggestions then please contact me.
