The equations that apply to bodies moving linearly (that is, one dimension) with uniform acceleration.
These equations are often referred to as the "SUVAT equations", as the 5 variables they involve are represented by those letters.
(s = displacement, u = initial velocity, v = final velocity, a = acceleration, t = time)
Features
For example : If an object is dropped from a hight of 1 metre, what will be its impact velocity and the time taken to fall?
Thus : The initial velocity (u) = 0 m/s. The distance traveled (s) = 1 m. The acceleration (a) = 9.80665 m/sē
Then : The Impact velocity (v) = 4.42869055 m/s, The time taken (t) = 0.45160076 s
PS This does assume there is no drag due to air, and acceleration due to free fall at this location is exactly 9.80665 m/sē !
