Saturday 14th July saw a double visit by GWR "Castle" class 4-6-0 5029 "Nunney Castle". This was my second encounter with this locomotive this year; the first being "The Exmoor Coast Express" in March. Although the day started off in heavy rain, it had cleared up by the time 5029 made its run through Evesham and held off for the second run.
On the 'down' pass, I attempted to emulate the success I had photographing 4472's name plate. However, as 5029 wasn't stopping in the station, it was travelling faster, and I missed.
5029 "Nunney Castle" passes through Evesham (Platform 1) with the 'down' "Elgar Explorer", bound for Worcester.
My favourite shot of the day, 5029 returns to Evesham with the 'up' "Elgar Explorer" |
