Hello, and welcome

I'm Chris, 5'11", athletic build, looking for a loving companion hopefully for keeps.

My house is at Rhayader in the Wye Valley in Powys (Mid-Wales). This location gives me the beauty of the surrounding hills and the Elan Valley, whilst being in easy driving distance of border towns such as Shrewsbury and Hereford, and the Welsh coast.

I am, in brief :-

• Interested in the arts, many kinds of music, poetry and history.
• An Open University student, within a couple of years of my B.A.
• A man who prefers the countryside to the town.
• Able to laugh at myself, but I care deeply about justice and privacy.
• Seventy this year, I hill-walk, cycle and swim, but I am not a fitness fanatic.
• Previously married, I have two married children.
• Still a passionate romantic (and a Piscean), with a desire to care for my partner.
• Given the opportunity, I am a good dancer.
• Fond of the occasional meal out and the theatre.
• Clean, neat and dress for the occasion.
• Able to cook for myself and skilled at do-it-yourself.
• My hobbies include canal restoration, various branches of archaeology, and railway preservation. I am writing a book.

What I'm not keen on, are :-

• Organised sports and crowds.
• Smelly dogs and smoking.

I have led a very varied life. This started when I ran away from public school at fourteen to serve in the Army, with which I saw much of the world. Afterwards I joined a county Police force. I have worked for a bank and on the footplate with a private railway. Now I am a part-time volunteer case-worker with an ex-services organisation, helping former servicemen and their dependants. I am an ecumenical Catholic.

I am looking for...

A lady of around 45-55, preferably dark-haired, fit, mature, tactile, with a kind heart, and an understanding nature. Any nationality or colour, intellectual and English-speaking.
