'Making Connections'

'Making Connections' provides an introduction to VOYPIC, connecting care experienced children and young people, building support networks, and providing new opportunities. Activities range from producing our newsletter, drama, Young Reps project, football, personal development training, group work residentials, conference events and working with other agencies.

This participation project offers young people the opportunity to take part in a range of activities and programmes, enabling them to make connections with their peers, VOYPIC and other relevant professionals and agencies.

There are a range of activities to take part in including our NEWSLETTER GROUP. This group of young people are responsible for designing and producing VOYPIC news. We are always looking for people to help us!

In the past VOYPIC's DRAMA GROUP was responsible for producing a number of video shorts on a range of issues for young people in care. We hope to run a series of drama workshops across Northern Ireland in the near future!

We also have one-off activities that young people can get involved in. For example, we entered a team into Challenge for Youth girls only five-aside football tournament in August and won second place!

There are also opportunities for young people to help shape and develop VOYPIC's work through the YOUNG REPS programme. Young people have been working with us over the summer months to help design the project which will commence in October.

The project also provides TRAINING to other agencies and professional on issues surrounding working in partnership with children and young people. This training is co-facilitated by young people.
