"End
of Restriction" It
enters into the suffocating world of a teenage boy growing up
in an English village. It follows his bicycle journey through
the stagnant scenery of his sleepy community where the only excitement
is the daily non-stop express train that heads to London.
"delightful
and disturbing"
John Wyver, Illuminations
"A
cat has gone missing. The local shop has closed down and the local
newspaper reports yet another non-event. These mundane details
painfully evoke a claustrophobic childhood, but they are also
ennobled by a mysterious (rather than a grotesque) quality and
by the melancholy atmosphere reminiscent of Edward Hopper's paintings"
Jane Giles, ICA
"extraordinary...
an uncanny monochrome vision of an English village"
Tom
Sutcliffe, The Independent
