The Social Tester

Rob Lambert

Introduction

Hi and welcome to The Social Tester website. This website supplements my main blog over at Posterous.

On this site you will find my contact details, a little bit more information about me, some links to other stuff I get involved in, links to articles and white papers and various other sections and also a new section on cool projects you may want to get involved in. Check out my blog for more stuff.

Why The Social Tester?

I often get asked why I chose the alter ego of The Social Tester. Well originally I was only going to use The Social Tester blog to talk about Social Media but it soon became a dumping ground for many other ideas and concepts too, not all related to social media. So the name simply applies to the fact that I like to socialise and bring communities together. It's the part of testing that is often over looked. Every industry and craft needs a community and much of the work I do is about bringing a bit of fun and laughter to the testing community.

I've recently become heavily involved with The Software Testing Club as this community to me, is one of the most welcoming, vibrant and diverse testing communities there is. It's got the big names, but its also got up and coming testers with a lot to say and really cool way of saying it. My main interests are communication, society and culture and these are all heavily evident at The Software Testing Club.

So...what tester are you?

It's been about three months in the making but the So...what tester are you? series has finished and is now being released as an eBook, which will be awesome. It's been a lot of fun coming up with the tester types and the graphics, courtesy of Rosie at the STC, are superb. They really make the characters come alive. Thanks to all who helped out and of course to those who left comments and helped me fine tune them. They've been a good laugh and long may they do the internet rounds giving people a little giggle and some fun. I've got some more projects on the go so keep your eyes peeled for these on this site and my blog.
