'What's the weather like with you ?'

Because the weather here is so unpredictable this is a question we always seem to be asking. Here is my answer. Don't forget - if we didn't have rain this wouldn't be a green and pleasant land !

New for Easter 2006!
Interesting history of Bonamargy by "Ardrigh" published in 1908

[Photo of Robert]I live in Ballycastle which is situated on the extreme north east coast of Ireland.

About one hour of each day is taken up with going for a walk with the dog.

I went to school at Ballycastle High School and obtained a good enough education to take me to Queen's University, Belfast. I had a very good time there - so good I ended up dropping out! I worked at various clerical and labouring jobs before settling down and joining the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. I have spent the last thirty plus years working for them in the local District Office where I am the Accounts Officer.

POSTCARDS OF BALLYCASTLE These postcards of Ballycastle from yesteryear will only be of interest to those from Ballycastle, and probably even then only of interest to the older amongst us!

The first of these I bought at the Lammas fair in 2002. Who says there is only rubbish on sale there!?!

Buying these got me to thinking as to how many different cards must have been published over the years. Hence to eBay where I have purchased a few more of what seems like hundreds available. You will note these contain very few of the real photo cards which for some reason or other are very expensive - or else I am too mean!

I have added many cards that are currently on sale - my apologies to any copyright infringements. It should also be noted that the quality of any of the images reproduced here in no way matches the excellent quality of all these cards.

The collection now runs to 16 pages - the last 2 of these still awaiting cards. These pages were last updated in March 2006.

The Family Tree

The web can also be a great place to try and trace your ancestors.
I was lucky in that a fairly extensive research had been done on part of my mother's ancestry.
There has been little success in trying to trace my father's ancestors. The little that is known by me is printed here. If anyone can add to this story I would be very grateful.
Coin collecting is made easy using the web!

[Builder GIF]As with many sites this one seems to be in a constant state of redesign and rebuilding!
I find the design and structure of Web pages fascinating and am forever trying to copy some elements of the better designs I see - without much success !
I am indebted to many people for help and inspiration as to how to go about this process.
