COMMENTS The original album was a two
record set called Melanie at Carnegie Hall. It was recorded over two
nights in February 1973, the 2nd and the 3rd. The latter of these being
Melanie's birthday. The shows are introduced by Alison Steele (2nd) and Scott
Muni (3rd) of WNEW-FM, New York. The circumstances surrounding
the release of the CD are rather a mystery. A number of copies were sold
directly by the record company. However, they suddenly refused to sell any
more and since then the CD has failed to appear on any of the Internet
retailers websites, or in any record stores and seems to have been withdrawn. This 2CD set contains the
full album but has little information other than the track listing and
recreates none of the original album packaging. |
