COMMENTS This 1989 release was
Melanie's first album in the UK for nearly six years. It was first released
in Germany in 1988. Like its predecessor is has a 'soft rock' sound. In fact
four of the tracks, To Be A Star, On A Lam From The Law, Another
Lie and Window Pane are taken directly from Melanie 1987,
while Show You is a re-recording. Ruby Tuesday is also a
re-recording and Lovin' The Boy Next Door is taken directly from
Melanie's previous UK release Seventh Wave. The remaining tracks Racing
Heart, What Have They Done To The Rain, Prematurely Grey
and Chosen Few are new songs. While the quality of the UK
CD is generally good, Another Lie suffers badly from tape hiss,
particularly noticeable as the track ends. This is not the case with the
German issue. Ruby Tuesday b/w Show You was
released as a single. The CD (CDYUM 117) and 12" (12YUM 117) include Rock
and Roll Heart (the Melanie 1987 version). Information on German CD
release supplied by Brian. |
