COMMENTS An album released by Buddah
after Melanie had left the label. Garden In The City consists of 2 tracks
from the soundtrack of the film R.P.M. with most of the rest of the
album being made up from out-takes and incomplete recordings released with
out permission. Garden In The City was a track Melanie recorded for
Columbia records prior to signing to Buddah. In the UK the album had a
special 'scratch n sniff' sleeve with the message 'Rub gently to release the
magic of Melanie's Garden.' The album reached No. 19 in the UK album charts. Although the album has never
officially released on CD all tracks, with the exception of the full version
of Somebody Loves Me have been made available on various compilations.
To reconstruct the album you will need the following CDs: “The Best Of The
Rest of Melanie” (We Don't Know Where We're
Going, Jigsaw Puzzle, Don't You Wait By The Water, Love
In Mind, People In The Front Row); “The Very Best Of Melanie” (Garden
In The City, Lay Lady Lay, Somebody Loves Me (edited));
“Oldie Giants” (Stop! I Don't Wanna Hear It Anymore). |
