COMMENTS This album was originally
available as a very limited edition tour souvenir. It is now only available
as a digital download from Melanie’s official website. I have heard that the
original CD had some sound problems, particularly during the spoken parts. However,
there seems to be no such problem with the download as the sound is bright
and clear throughout. The album is a straight recording
of the first half of a concert held in The Netherlands. It opens with a
guitar piece from Beau, who then introduces Melanie, and it runs to the point
where she takes an intermission. It
has the feeling of an intimate concert in front of a small(ish) audience. The
performances are enthusiastic (particularly Jammin’ Alone and Brand
New Key. However, there are times when it sounds as though Melanie’s voice
has not fully warmed up, particularly during her first two numbers. Overall I have to confess
that I found this ‘album’ a bit of a disappointment. However, for Olga, her
friends and for others who saw Melanie on the tour, I’m sure this is a great
souvenir. |
