COMMENTS The original title for this album
was to have been Spunky. It was Peter who coined the word Phonogenic,
describing Melanie as a very 'phonogenic person.' Melanie added the
phrase 'not just another pretty face.' The main difference between
the US and UK release for this album was in the cover artwork. When Melanie
first saw the art work (that would eventually be used for the UK issue) she
decided that the image did not suite the mood of the music and instead came
up with the idea that was eventually used, the very austere black, white and
silver cover. So far only two tracks from
this album have appeared on CD, Let It Be Me and California
Dreaming both being included on “Shine On”. |
