COMMENTS While the inclusion of Time
After Time is a welcome addition to this CD, the same cannot be said of
the three live tracks included as bonus material. Recorded at the Meltdown Festival 2007, Melanie’s triumphant
return to the UK after many years absence, these tracks do not sit well on
this album of studio cover versions. The editing also doesn’t help. The fade in at the start of each song happens
quite suddenly and Lay Down and Ruby Tuesday are both faded out
before completion. It seems a shame to have dropped When I Need You, I’ll
Never Find Another You and I Will Survive in favour of these live
recordings. My recommendation is stick with the 2006 release, which works
much better. |
