Robin Akers is a qualified BCF Level 2 coach. He has many years experience guiding, leading and organising different cycling groups and events.
Since gaining his cycling qualification his direct coaching experience has seen dramatic improvements in the performances of the riders he has coached, including race wins, and Club Best Rider awards.
I have also previously competed in squash, badminton and football.

Coaching Background
Cycling for 12 years, mainly mountain bikes but in the last three years also road. Have ridden extensively in all parts of Britain and also in Spain and the French Alps.
Worked as guide and coach in Spain with riders of all abilities.
Raced MTB bikes (cross-country) mainly in the SAMS series as a Vet. Finished in the top 12 in 2000, best result 8th place finish in class.
2nd In Year 2000 Winter Race series 1999.
Organised & promoted several small XC races.
Raised money for Cancer Research Campaign by riding the off road Coast to Coast & the Oxfordshire County boundary ride.
Led many guided rides for various organisations, particularly Oxfordshire County Council & Charlbury Youth Hostel Trust
Managed & ran one of the first Get Set courses in the UK for 7-12 year olds in the summer of 2000.
Ran and managed Masterclass workshops for SAMS in 2000
Cycling coach to Youth section of Team Cherwell Triathlon Club in 2000
