As a team captain, school or cycling club would you like to:
- Have access to a qualified coach trained to work with children?
- Run the latest schemes such as IMPRUVE and GeT Set designed to introduce children to the sport and help them improve their skills?
- Provide your club members with access to a coach
qualified to advise on the best way to prepare for races or how to get the most enjoyment from the sport?
- Take your group on a ride led by a qualified MTB guide?
Group coaching and training is an excellent way to include all abilities and ages in cycling. It also allows new skills to be learnt and improved in a supportive & safe environment.
areUfit organise group training sessions for schools & clubs by arrangement. This could be a master class in your local woods, a special BCF scheme for kids in the school playground or a weekend away somewhere.
For the more adventurous we organise trips to Spain with dedicated weeks for riding, training and coaching in a better climate. Details are provided below of some of the activities we can organise, but the possibilities are endless so the best thing to do is to call us and discuss your ideas or requirements.
For young children the British Cycling Federation (BCF) have created the getSET scheme. Aimed at the 7-12 year old age group it is designed to fit into the school cirriculum as an after school activity. Each session lasts approximately 1 hour and combines learning basic skills and techniques with fun and enjoyment. All the school or club needs is an area about the size of a tennis court in order to stage the activity, the rest of the equipment is provided by areUfit. Each group registers with the BCF and at the completion of the course each participant is awarded a goody bag, containing a wallet and certificate.
The getSet scheme can be expanded to encourage those children who wish to continue to learn and perhaps compete in the Raleigh Challenge competition. Regional events are held which lead onto national finals where children compete against each other and the clock for prizes such as new bikes.
Your group does not have to join the BCF to enjoy cycling, areUfit can teach them all the basic skills they will need in order to ride safely. Skills such as braking, steering, balance and cornering both on and off road.
Coaching can also expand to include climbing and descending on and off road. If they wish to compete areUfit can teach your group the basic skills of cyclo cross, pursuiting and mountain bike racing.
BUT if they just want to ride for fun then thats great and areUfit can help there too. Our knowledge and experience of where to go in Britain can help your group enjoy a day or weekend or week riding just for the sake of it.
Day Rides
If you belong to a club or have a group you ride with regularly and want to enjoy a ride on differenet terrain, without having to keep stopping to look at a map to find your way, then areUfit can organise the day, weekend or week of riding for you. areUfit uses an extensive network of trails that are suitable for all abilities around Britain. These vary in distance and difficulty. For the more adventurous there are also the county boundary rides for both road and MTB bikes. The road route can be ridden over a weekend, the off road version takes three days.
In all instances areUfit canl organise accommodation & food in order to allow you to concentrate on enjoying the riding.
There is even the option of riding abroad with our Biking Alpujarra trips. You decide and let us take the hard work out of your fun.
