Planners Comments
Having avoided the responsibility of planning an event before I was somewhat apprehensive of the responsibility. Much to my surprise however I thoroughly enjoyed the exercise (in both senses of the word) and my resolution is never to criticize other courses as the finished event has to include so many factors not apparent when just competing. King’s Cliff especially is problematic because of the elongated shape of the available ground. I hope from the comments made by some of those attending that the area has lost some of it’s reputation for being awful. Those who complained about the strenuous nature of the green course can be grateful for David’s knowledgeable intervention as controller in that he drastically reduced the length of the course! It was good to see groups relaxing over lengthy picnics in the sun after competing, but rather disappointing to have such a small turnout due to a number of other events over the weekend. Thanks as always due to David, Bill, Chris, Sue and others who contribute a vast amount of time and expertise to such events
