Score 2 Saturday 9 July - Results

Thank you to everyone who came to Windown on what turned out to be a lovely summers day. I am sorry the vegetation was so aggressive, positively person eating I am afraid. As far as possible I put controls so that you were not to far away from them when on  a track. The exception were in the southern part of the map where there were lots of runnable if somewhat steep slopes. As most of you are probably aware the Quantock areas can be a little physical but you are always filled with a deep sense of satisfaction (and relief!!!) when you finish. As I said to Andy Rimes, who has just returned from the Saunders, I thought that would have been  good practice for a Quantock event!!

Next year I would like to get somewhere a little more runnable but we, like many others, are kept off a lot of areas because of ground nesting birds. Neverthe less I shall try and the Score 1 areas wasn't too bad at all.

My thanks as always to Bill and Lennox plus the rest of the willing helpers. In particular I would like to thank those who stayed and helped collect in controls; anyone who has planned an event will know this is the least attractive part of the job and has to be done at the end of a long and physical day - thank you I got home at a respectable hour.

Our next event is on the 4 Sept which is a Sunday at Lydeard Hill, see you there I hope.
