Excellent walking on the nearby Penine Way - The Calderdale Way & the beauty spot of Hardcastle Crags.
Plenty of delightful walks on the hillsides around the valley.
For those interested in art & literature we are less than 30mins away from Howarth, the home of the Bronte sisters & their brother Branwell. 15mins Shibden Hall, the home of Anne Lister. And Ted Hughes the late Poet Laureate was born just a mile down the road. In nearby Saltaire at Salts Mill there is a permanent exhibition of David Hockney's work, at Salford Quays is the Lowry Centre & The Sculpture Park in Wakefield.
Hebden Bridge with it's canal basin, barges & riverside walk, and Halifax with Eureka Children's Museum & The Piece Hall are on the doorstep.
