CLAMP

Kazuhiko from CloverI hereby issue a challenge to you: If you have not already done so then find the 7 books of the series entitled "Tokyo Babylon" by CLAMP, find a translation and then read it. This is not an easy challenge unless you speak Japanese since a translation of Tokyo Babylon is very hard to come by (don't look at me, I want one myself). This is, however, one of the best examples of why it is worth the bother of finding and reading translation in order to read the manga. The story is simply superb.

Regrettably, the latest of CLAMP's series do not live up to the emotional impact of Tokyo Babylon but they are fun to read. The first CLAMP series I ever read, and one of my all time favourites, is the RayEarth trilogy.

Also amusing is the series 'Wish'. All about an angel who has to stay on Earth until she/he/it grants the wish of a man who helped her/him/it. Kohaku from WishI like the story but steer clear if you are looking for an involved plot.

Their other main projects of interest are X and Clover. Of these my favourite by a long way has to be Clover. This may explain why my namesake is one of the main characters from Clover! No matter what else can be said about them, CLAMP's artwork is very, very nice.

CLAMP's current projects all seem to be of the 'cute but lack plot' kind. I do enjoy most of what they have authored but hopefully at some point they will decide to write something a little more meaningful.
